How to use the Aadhaar Paperless Offline e-KYC service
The Aadhaar Paperless Offline e-KYC (Beta) is a service
provided by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) that allows
users to download their Aadhaar demographic data in a digitally signed XML
format. This data can be used for offline verification purposes by entities
that require Aadhaar verification, without the need for the user to share their
Aadhaar number.
To use the Paperless Offline e-KYC service, follow these
steps:
- Go
to the official UIDAI website: https://uidai.gov.in/ - Click
on the "Download" option and select "Aadhaar Paperless
Offline e-KYC" from the dropdown menu. - Enter
your 12-digit Aadhaar number and the security code displayed on the
screen. - Click
on the "Send OTP" button to receive a 6-digit OTP on your
registered mobile number. - Enter
the OTP in the appropriate field and click on the "Download XML"
button. - Save
the digitally signed XML file on your device.
To use the downloaded XML file for offline verification, you
will need to provide it to the entity requesting Aadhaar verification along
with the unique Share Code that is generated during the download process. The
entity can then use the Share Code to verify the authenticity of the XML file
through the UIDAI website.
Note that the Paperless Offline e-KYC service is currently
in beta mode and may not be available to all users.
