You can verify an Aadhaar number by following these steps:

1. Go
   to the official UIDAI website: https://uidai.gov.in/


2. Click
   on the "Verify Aadhaar Number" option under the "Aadhaar
   Services" section on the homepage.


3. Enter
   the 12-digit Aadhaar number that you want to verify in the appropriate
   field.


4. Enter
   the security code displayed on the screen.


5. Click
   on the "Verify" button.


6. If
   the Aadhaar number is valid and active, the website will display a message
   saying "Aadhaar number 'XXXX XXXX XXXX' exists" along with the
   age band of the person (i.e. whether they are a child, adult or senior
   citizen).


7. If
   the Aadhaar number is not valid or inactive, the website will display a
   message saying "The Aadhaar number 'XXXX XXXX XXXX' does not
   exist".
